Can You Handle the Truth?

This letter has been making it's way around the web for months now. My Clan Mother, TrueHeart, has decided to let her voice be heard and below the letter is her response. Can you handle it?

Finally, someone has said what I think has been on every American's mind!!!! This is an editorial written by an American citizen, published in a local newspaper.
  "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT!!"
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture, here in the USA.   Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost entirely comprised of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some who were born here, need to understand.
This idea of America, being a multi-cultural community, has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.  We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! ENGLISH.
"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, of Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented.  It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.  If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is and always will be part of our culture.
If the "Stars and Stripes" offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from.  Remember, "Delta is ready when you are and they can  have you there by nightfall".
This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so.  But, once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great American freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

If you agree with this message, pass it on. If you don't agree, pass it on anyway. What  the heck! This is AMERICA, after all!

This is OUR country! We are the indigenous peoples who have lived here for milleniums. Before the dawn of written history, we struggled to live on this wild & beautiful continent and succeeded. We fought to preserve our culture which is as old as time. When the "immigrants" began to appear, we welcomed them with open arms. They came, speaking English, French & Spanish and most of them never learned the language of the People. They refused to adapt to our peaceful ways or to learn that the land does not belong to us, we belong to the land. They did not know Creator as we do, instead naming Him a jealous & vengeful God. Because we did not believe or live as they did, they named us ignorant and savage. Yet they are the ones who taught how to scalp -- many native scalps and ears were exchanged by white men for the white man's bounty. We did not insist that they learn our languages nor that they live as we did.
When they made war on us, we fought back. When they killed our loved ones, we retaliated. It was not right but war is, after all, war. In their greed, they pushed us further & further away from our homes. Their greater numbers & weapons won the day for them and our people were herded onto places that were foreign to us -- away from our hunting grounds and our clear streams. We were forced to eke out a life far from our homes. We understand the need to make immigrants conform to YOUR ways. You wouldn't want the same thing to happen to you as happened to us!
And yet, we salute the "Stars & Stripes". Our young warriors volunteer to go to foreign lands & risk (and sometimes GIVE) their lives for the USA. WHY, you ask? Because, when all is said & done, it's still our flag, still our government -- IT'S STILL OUR LAND!
